However, West Ham face competition from Tottenham Hotspur who are also keen on the Italian footballer.

The Irons have had a disappointing 2024-25 campaign, as they are languishing in 16th position in the table.

Fans expected improvement in their fortunes when Graham Potter took over from Julen Lopetegui in January.

However, the English boss has endured a torrid start, as West Ham have claimed a single win from six matches under him.

The East Londoners’ latest encounter saw them losing 1-0 to Brentford at the London Stadium, with Kevin Schade scoring the decisive goal.

Potter’s side look in need of reinforcements in defense. Max Kilman has been a solid addition after he joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer.

However, the same thing cannot be said about Jean-Clair Todibo who hasn’t been very convincing with his performances.

They also have Konstantinos Mavropanos on their books but the Greek has been poor at the back.

Gatti could be a smart acquisition for the Premier League side. He has proven himself in Italy with Juventus.

The centre-back has made 23 Serie A appearances this campaign, with two goal contributions to his name. He has averaged 2.7 clearances, 0.9 tackles and 4.2 ball recoveries per game in the Italian top-flight.
