According to Polish football website Meczyki, Westerlo have had a bid rejected for Jagiellonia goalkeeper Sławomir Abramowicz. The 20-year-old was a target for the Belgian club who are looking for a new goalkeeper, with the side currently relying on the veteran Koen Van Langendonck. The 35-year-old has stepped in after some poor performances from 36-year-old Sinan Bolat.
Abramowicz has played 38 games for Jagiellonia and has become the sides first choice this season. He has impressed in his 28 performances across both the Ekstraklasa and Conference League. His side are currently third in the table domestically, while also having finished 9th in the Conference League and qualified for the next round, where they will face TSC Bocak Topola.
Westerlo are not the only side interested. Roma are also said to have an eye on the goalkeeper, making it even more understandable as to why the bid from Westerlo was rejected. Clearly, the Polish side know that they can get a far higher price for the goalkeeper than what Westerlo were initially able to offer. Whether or not the Belgian side will return with an improved bid, or move onto other targets, is not yet known.
