Westerlo’s top scorer of 2023/2024 set for move to QPR | OneFootball

GvA are reporting that Westerlo’s top scorer from last season, Nicolas Madsen, is set to join QPR imminently. The paper is reporting that Madsen is on his way to England to complete a medical with the Championship club after the two clubs agreed on a fee. The 24-year-old from Denmark was under contract with the Belgian side until 2026 and is valued at around €2.5m by Transfermarkt.

The former Danish youth international joined Westerlo in 2022 for around €1m from FC Midtjylland and became a key player in their first season back in the Belgian top flight. During his first season in Belgium he played 37 times and scored twice. Last season, however, he was key in ensuring the side avoided relegation. He led the side with an impressive 14 goals in 35 games, a very decent return for a midfielder. He showed his composure from the spot, dispatching nine penalties. Madsen has already scored once in four games so far this season.
