Miguel Almiron this week returned to Atlanta United after six years at Newcastle United.

The Paraguay international overwhelmed (watch below) by the welcome he got from Atlanta United fans waiting to greet him at the airport.

Miguel Almiron has now given his first press conference since his return.

Miggy thanking those Atlanta United fans for the reception he got and for their support generally. On Friday the 30 year old posted an emotional farewell message to the Newcastle United fans.

Atlanta United official media quoting from the Miguel Almiron press conference on his return to the club after six years at Newcastle United – 31 January 2025:

“What I missed most was the affection of the fans.

“It had been a long time since I had felt a feeling like that.

“I’m always very grateful for the fans in Atlanta, not just for last night, but from when I arrived the first time, back when a lot of people didn’t know who I was.

“The support from the beginning has always been there.

“I think I’ve grown as a player and also as a person, both on and off the field.

“You always learn from your experiences.

“Right now, I’m calm and I’m coming here with that motivation to help the team.

“Atlanta is a club that always deserves to be fighting for important things.

“With the work that we’re all going to do and the work we’re all going to do together, the players and everyone at the club, that’s what we want to do.
