Following England's narrow but crucial 1-0 triumph against Spain and their 1-1 draw against Portugal, the first international break of 2025 has now concluded.
The Nations League campaign is well underway, and the European Championship in Switzerland are also on the horizon for the Lionesses. In July, Sarina Wiegman's side will hope to defend the title they won on home soil in 2022, while also seeking to make amends for their World Cup final defeat to Spain in 2023.
This month, England were held to a frustrating draw by Portugal in Portimao. Alessia Russo's opening goal in that game was cancelled out by a stunning second-half equaliser from Portugal starlet and Barcelona attacking midfielder Kika Nazareth.
Against Spain at Wembley, however, there was plenty of encouragement as England scored the opening goal in the first half courtesy of Jess Park. Unlike the Portugal game, the hosts were resilient defensively, despite Spain's onslaught, and the performance was arguably the best for 12 months.
England players will now return to their respective clubs for a crucial month. There is a League Cup final to come, crucial WSL matches, and the Champions League knockout rounds.
Wiegman's next squad convenes in early April for a Nations League double-header against Belgium. The first game will take place at Ashton Gate Stadium on 4 April, followed by the return fixture in Leuven four days later.
England last faced Belgium in the group stage of this competition in October 2023. On that occasion, it was also a double-header, home and away one after the other, starting with a narrow 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium, followed by a dramatic 3-2 loss in Leuven.

Following the April international break, England will conclude their Nations League group stage campaign at the end of the domestic season in May. They will face Portugal at Wembley Stadium on 30 May, which will be followed by a trip to Spain on 3 June.
Given that there will then be a month-long break before the Euros kick off in July, it is not yet known whether any friendly matches will be scheduled in at the end of June. Prior to the Euros in 2022, England played warm-up matches against Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
However, due to the close proximity of the Nations League to the tournament itself, the number of friendly games England may play, if any at all, remains to be seen.
England will then begin their Euro title defence with a Group D match against France at Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich on Saturday 5 July. The Netherlands and Wales make up the remainder of what is a very tough group for the current holders.
