‘Will be nothing’ – Moretto swiftly closes down Guardiola to Milan rumours

AC Milan, in the past few days, have been linked to a number of head coaches, and Pep Guardiola’s name crept up. However, it seems this is a nothing story.

The management picture at Milan currently is very unclear, though this stems from the situation with the sporting director. Without a sporting director, no decisions will be made, and this morning’s setback with Fabio Paratici has not helped.

In fact, it is exactly Paratici where the rumours about Guardiola stem from, with reports suggesting that the Spaniard is admired by the former Tottenham Hotspur director, and a move could be attempted.

However, renowned journalist Matteo Moretto has shut down any belief in this dream appointment when speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel this afternoon, via Milan News.

“It’s something I deny. It seems to me to be a name absolutely out of the air. There has never been anything and there will be nothing between Milan and Guardiola.”

It seems there are only four candidates in contention for the job at the moment, and with the Italian route being preferred, Pep seems like a world away.
