Scouts from Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers were in attendance in midweek, as Atlético Madrid kickstarted the club’s Copa del Rey campaign.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.

Atlético are fresh off booking their spot in the 3rd round of the Spanish domestic cup on Thursday night.

As much came courtesy of a late comeback, away at minnows Cacereño.

And, as per the aforementioned MD, watching on attentively from the stands were members of the backroom staff from Wolves:

‘A Wolverhampton scout was present at the Estadio Príncipe Felipe to watch the clash between Cacereño and Atlético de Madrid in the Copa del Rey.’

As much, it is understood, came with a view to potential future moves for several members of Diego Simeone’s squad.

Wolves and Atlético boast an excellent relationship, owing to past deals for the likes of Jonny Otto, Raúl Jiménez, Diogo Jota, Matheus Cunha.

And labelled as potentially in the sights of the Molineux brass at present are the likes of Reinildo Mandava, Rodrigo Riquelme, and Clément Lenglet.
