Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on stepping up their interest in Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone after pulling out of a move for Aaron Ramsdale, according to talkSPORT.
Johnstone is the second choice at Selhurst Park, having lost his place to Dean Henderson.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has revealed that the 31-year-old has informed the club that he wants to leave.
Wolves are ready to make use of the situation to solve their problem in the goalkeeping department.
They are in the market for a goalkeeper and have just pulled out of the race to sign Ramsdale from Arsenal after deeming the transfer fee involved to be too expensive.
With time running out though, they have immediately turned their focus on Johnstone and are ready to step up their interest.
The veteran’s current situation at his club could work in favour of Wolves.
With the transfer window closing on Friday though, Gary O’Neil’s side face a race against time to get a deal over the line.
