Wolves welcome Aston Villa to Molineux this evening in a local grudge match.
Vitor Pereira’s team are aiming to avoid a fifth straight Premier League defeat against their Midlands rivals. Wolves dropped into the relegation places last weekend, following a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on home soil.
However, it was an improved performance from Pereira’s team with January signing Emmanuel Agbadou impressive. Pereira has made clear his desire for further reinforcements before Monday’s transfer deadline.
The visitors arrive buoyed by beating Celtic to secure Champions League progress in midweek. Villa’s 4-2 win over the Scottish champions secured a top-eight finish in the league phase and automatic entry to the Round of 16.
Wolves will be without Jorgen Strand Larsen after the forward was forced off against Arsenal. A muscular issue is set to sideline the Norwegian in a big blow.
Mario Lemina remains away from the first-team squad as he looks for an exit, while fellow midfielder Joao Gomes is suspended after a red card against Arsenal.
Boubcar Traore, Sasa Kalajdzic, Yerson Mosquera and Carlos Forbs are among the other significant absentees from Pereira’s plans.
Wolves predicted XI: Sa; Agbadou, Bueno, Toti; Semedo, Andre, Doyle, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Hwang; Cunha.
Wolves host Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday 1st February 2025. Kick-off at Molineux is 17:30 GMT.
In the United Kingdom (UK), the game will be available to stream live online on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
