The transfer team at Premier League giants Manchester City have earmarked a member of the academy ranks at Barcelona as a leading target.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Baba Kourouma as the player in question.
Kourouma, for his part, is the brother of former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba.
The 15-year-old is a gifted central defender, who has long been considered one of the standout up-and-coming talents in Catalunya’s capital.
The issue for Barcelona, however, is that Kourouma’s contract terms are due to expire this coming summer.
And keen to take advantage of this situation, as alluded to above, is ex-Blaugrana headmaster Pep Guardiola, of Manchester City.
‘As my Italian colleague of Tuttomercato Marco Conterio already announced, Manchester City would like to loan Kourouma to a club in the group.’
The plan of the Sky Blues would be to bring the youngster in as a free agent in the summer, before immediately farming him out on loan to another member of the ‘City Group’.
Kourouma’s priority remains to pen fresh terms with Barcelona, but an agreement, as of yet, has not been found.
