It has been exclusively revealed by Football League World that the Hornets are interested in the 19-year-old.

However, they face competition from the likes of Hull City and Coventry City in the race for his signature.

Bindon is in the final year of his contract, raising speculation over a potential exit from the Berkshire outfit in January in order to avoid losing him for nothing this summer.

When asked about the club’s potential pursuit of Bindon, FLW’s Watford fan pundit Justin Beattie claimed that game time could be hard to come by for the player given their current options.

However, he admitted that he would find it to be an appealing profile of signing if it did come to fruition.

Watford are blessed with some good Championship central defenders already,” Beattie told Football League World.

“[Ryan] Porteous, [Mattie] Pollock, [Francisco] Sierralta and [Angelo] Ogbonna should be coming back from injury anytime soon.

“So, whether he would get much of a game at Vicarage Road would be doubtful.

“However, it’s always good to bring in bright talents like a Tyler Bindon, so we’ll see what happens.”

Bindon’s importance to Reading

Bindon has featured 19 times in League One for Reading so far this season, with the team competing for a play-off place.

The Royals’ financial situation is precarious amid uncertainty surrounding the ownership, which makes him a very valuable asset to the club.

He broke into the first team squad last season, making 40 league appearances under Ruben Selles.

The defender has asserted himself as a key part of the first team squad, and it would be a big blow to the Royals if he were to depart in January.

Bindon being in demand will be no surprise to Reading supporters

It will come as no surprise that Bindon is attracting transfer interest ahead of the January window.

Their financial situation means they are an easy target for good deals, particularly given the young talent in their squad at the moment.

Bindon is perhaps the biggest talent of them all, and the jump up to the Championship would be a natural next move in his career.
