To mark World Autism Awareness Day, Inter created a “Quiet Room” –a welcoming space designed for individuals on the autism spectrum– inside San Siro for the first time. In fact, for this important initiative, Pirelli Skylounge, Inter's Global Tyre Partner, has been made into an area dedicated to welcoming 30 autistic people, giving them a unique and inclusive experience inside the stadium.

When they arrived at San Siro, the youngsters were welcomed by players from the Special Nerazzurri Team, a squad affiliated with the Club and competing in the FIGC DPCS division. Their presence made the welcome even more special, highlighting Inter’s strong commitment to promoting inclusion through sport.

Before watching Inter's victory from the stands, the young guests were visited by President Giuseppe Marotta, Vice President Javier Zanetti and Chief of Staff Max Catanese, who wanted to offer their greetings and show the Club’s support for this important cause, as well as Matteo Battaini, Pirelli’s Chief Sustainability and Future Mobility Officer.

This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Italian Autism Foundation and the Giuco Association and received support from the National Authority for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In attendance at San Siro was the president of the Authority, Maurizio Borgo, who emphasised the need for an open and inclusive approach to disability and the importance of sport as a tool for this purpose.

The objective of the Club and all the partners of the initiative is to raise awareness of the issues faced by neurodivergent individuals – not just on World Autism Awareness Day – by supporting their ability to be active members of society and participate in sports and cultural events, such as an Inter match at San Siro.

With this initiative, Inter reaffirms its commitment to creating an increasingly inclusive and accessible environment for all fans, so that every supporter can experience football in a peaceful and engaging way. It highlights how sport is an important tool for fostering self-awareness, developing personal identity and creating social connections for everyone.
