Barcelona send scouts to watch Premier League star in action | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona recently sent scouts to watch over the performance of a leading member of the attacking ranks at Newcastle United.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who point towards Alexander Isak as the player in question.

The name of frontman Isak has of course long proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital.

This comes with the Swedish international having been tipped by a whole host of outlets as a potential long-term replacement for the aging Robert Lewandowski in Barcelona’s frontline.

Those of a Blaugrana persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be interested to hear of their side’s pursuit of one of world football’s standout attackers continuing to look very much alive.

As per Newcastle insider Craig Hope of the Daily Mail:

‘Barcelona watched the 25-year-old during last week’s 1-0 win at West Ham, and it is said the Spanish giants want a marquee signing ahead of their first full season at the redeveloped Nou Camp. Barca president Joan Laporta is a huge admirer of Isak, who played in La Liga for Real Sociedad.’

It is also worth noting, however, that as things stand, Newcastle themselves have no intention of allowing Isak to depart.
