Chelsea have confirmed Cole Palmer's withdrawal from the England camp.
Palmer was named in Thomas Tuchel's first-ever squad for the national side's upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Albania and Latvia in the next week.
But the playmaker's absence from the Blues' defeat to Arsenal on Sunday stands at the heart of his early return after picking up an injury on the eve of the clash.
"Cole Palmer has returned to Chelsea from the England camp following the injury he sustained in training on Saturday," read a Chelsea statement.
"Palmer did not feature in Sunday's defeat at Arsenal because of what Enzo Maresca described as a muscular problem sustained in the build-up to the game.
"Palmer will miss the Three Lions’ upcoming World Cup qualifiers at home to Albania and Latvia and instead continue his recovery at Cobham.
"Reece James and Levi Colwill are now the Chelsea representatives in Thomas Tuchel’s squad."
Palmer has earned 11 senior caps with the Three Lions since his debut in 2023.
