Manchester City booked their place in the FA Cup final for a third time in succession after defeating Nottingham Forest at Wembley.
The Citizens knew that this game was their only chance of silverware this season with Liverpool on course to clinch the Premier League trophy at the same time.
Pep Guardiola's outfit put in a professional performance though and took the lead against Forest within the first two minutes of the game.
Mateo Kovacic powered through to set up Rico Lewis to finish past Matz Sels within the first few minutes.
Nuno Espírito Santo's side struggled to get back into the game from that point on and were hit by another City goal early into the second half.
City's second was a goal that Forest will feel like they should have dealt with better. Omar Marmoush sent in a corner from the left which found Josko Gvardiol – rising far higher than anyone else in the Forest box – to head home.
Forest should have at least scored once at Wembley. Morgan Gibbs-White was guilty of missing a huge chance as he took advantage of a poor back pass from Gvardiol before going past Stefan Ortega but then only finding the woodwork from a tight angle.
Taiwo Awoniyi was next to hit the post for Forest but at that point, with just 10 minutes to play, it was obvious who would be booking their final spot.
City will now face Crystal Palace for the famous trophy on May 17th.
