Gerry Cardinale, the owner of AC Milan, recently had a meeting with Fabio Paratici in Como regarding the sporting director role. However, as a report claims, nothing has changed despite the face-to-face encounter.

May is about to start and just five games remain of the season, including the Coppa Italia final. Despite this, Milan are yet to identify their new sporting director and time is running out, as plans have to be made for next season as soon as possible.

According to today’s edition of Corriere della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, the Rossoneri owner Gerry Cardinale had a meeting with Fabio Paratici in Como in the last few days. The two met in a luxury hotel and talked about the situation, but nothing has changed as far as Milan are concerned.

Indeed, Paratici is serving a suspension until July 20 due to the capital gains case and he won’t become the Rossoneri’s new director after that. His future is at Tottenham, as the newspaper continues, so Milan will have to look elsewhere.

The two favourites on the list are Tony D’Amico (Atalanta) and Igli Tare (formerly of Lazio). Giorgio Furlani will have to make a decision rather soon, even if he intends to take all the time he needs. Given the importance of the decision, he isn’t keen on rushing into things.

D’Amico has a contract with Atalanta until 2027, which could make him hard to get, while Tare would be able to join immediately. Either way, despite the aforementioned meeting, it’s clear that Paratici won’t be Milan’s man.
