While many of AC Milan’s players have jetted off around Europe and even over to the Americas over the international break, Youssouf Fofana will get a risk.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) report, Fofana had great start to the season following his arrival from Monaco in the summer transfer window. Paulo Fonseca couldn’t do without him, as shown by the 30 consecutive games as a starter.

That run continued into Sergio Conceicao’s first few matches (Fonseca was in charge for 24 games before being replaced by his compatriot), but Fofana has had some difficulties and since the beginning of February.

The midfielder has often started from the bench or has not played the full 90 minutes. The reason? The first part of the season as a permanent starter obviously took a lot away from him in terms of energy, so he often appeared tired and less dominant than in his first appearances.

The difficulties of the No.29 were seen in the entire team, which suffered a lot without someone to play in front of the defence. This, the break couldn’t come at a better time and Fofana – who hasn’t been called up by France – will try to make the most of it to get back to his best.

Milan have a very challenging final part of the season coming up, which will start with the very difficult match against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Fofana will almost certainly return to the starting line-up given Yunus Musah’s suspension, perhaps alongside Warren Bondo.
