There have been signs of resurgence recently at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim after what was a disappointing start under the Portuguese.
It was not all the former Sporting coach’s fault with the squad not equipped to deal with his possession-based tactics after playing chaos ball under former manager Erik ten Hag for the last two seasons.
Despite FA Cup success, the Dutchman was rightly shown the door earlier this campaign and he remains without a job so far even though he has been linked with multiple posts.
Talksport have now claimed that the Dutch manager is eyeing the vacant Juventus post after Thiago Motta was sacked recently.
For now, Igor Tudor has been given the role until the end of the season with the Turin-based outfit fifth in the Serie A standings.
The Italian side will take a call once the season ends with the report claiming there are multiple other options also in the fray including Roberto Mancini, current Al Nassr boss Stefano Pioli, and Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini.
“Former Manchester United Erik ten Hag is keen on the Juventus job, talkSPORT understands. Ten Hag was sacked by United in October 2024 and has been without a club since.
“Juve axed Thiago Motta on Sunday with the team currently fifth in Serie A, 12 points behind leaders Inter Milan. For the meantime, though, Igor Tudor has been appointed on an initial contract until the end of the season.
“The club hierarchy may consider Ten Hag as the man to turn things around in the long-term. However Italian reports have said Roberto Mancini, current Al Nassr boss Stefano Pioli, and Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini are all being considered for the permanent Juventus job.”
Ten Hag’s track record with Ajax as well as winning the Carabao and FA Cup with the Red Devils means he is held in high regard in European football circles.
However, his future will depend on what sort of style the Dutch coach ultimately uses — the attractive style that he showed at Ajax or play a counter-attacking style like he employed at Old Trafford.
Tottenham Hotspur, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are just some of the other teams who have expressed interest in recruiting Ten Hag while the former United boss has revealed he is content with managing his family business for now.
