La Liga outfit Girona have on Tuesday revealed the extent of the injury suffered by midfield standout Iván Martín.
And the news will no doubt come as a blow for all of a Blanquivermells persuasion.
Martín, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Girona’s La Liga meeting with Valencia this past weekend.
After pulling up clutching the back of his left leg, the 26-year-old was quickly hauled off, giving rise to immediate concern surrounding an incoming spell on the sidelines.
And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, as much has been confirmed.
As per a statement across the social media platforms of the Catalan club, Martín has indeed suffered a hamstring injury, which is expected to keep him on the treatment table for a period of around five weeks:
‘Iván Martín suffers a myotendinous injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg. Approximate downtime: 5 weeks.’
