The Baggies could lose the 26-year-old for nothing this summer unless a fresh deal can be agreed to extend his stay at The Hawthorns.

Diangana has been a regular presence in the side this season, with the Midlands outfit chasing a play-off place and promotion to the Premier League.

The forward joined West Brom from West Ham on a permanent basis in 2020 after an initial loan spell, helping Albion to promotion during that initial stint as the team finished second in the table under Slaven Bilic.

Here, we use estimated figures from Capology to work out how much Diangana has earned during his time at the club…

Diangana joined West Brom on an initial loan deal in 2019, playing 30 times in the league as the team earned promotion to the Premier League with a second place finish in the table.

During that first campaign with the Baggies, the DR Congo international was on a salary worth £5,000 per week.

Once he joined on a permanent basis in the summer of 2020, that wage was bumped up to £20,350 to reflect his status as a prominent part of the first team squad.

He again received a minor increase for the 2021/22 season, despite West Brom now being back in the Championship, going up to £20,385 per week.

This led to annual salaries worth £260,000, £1,058,200 and £1,060,000, with the latter earned for each of the last three years.

This amounts to a total earning of £4,498,200 for his time with the Midlands outfit.

But there are now concerns over his future at the club, with David Prutton exclusively telling FLW that he expects there to be several clubs chasing his signature.

The 26-year-old is the fifth highest paid permanent player in the Albion squad, only behind the likes of Daryl Dike, Jed Wallace, Darnell Furlong and John Swift in the pecking order.

Dike is earning £32,308 per week compared to Diangana's £20,385, which could play a role in the winger's potential exit this summer.

Prutton has claimed that Diangana’s form in the last few years hasn’t been as strong as his initial performances while on loan.

However, he believes a club like Burnley, who were linked with a move in January, could reignite their interest in the summer if he becomes available as a free agent.

"Grady Diangana on a free? Yes, I do think there will be clubs very much together in the hunt for him," Prutton told FLW.

"I think the Grady Diangana that we saw help get West Brom promoted, it would be fair to say that, for a couple of seasons now, he's not quite been at that level.

"I still think, for a player that is 26, there's still plenty of top-level gas left in the tank.

"So, whether that is a Burnley looking at a player such as that, who have a little penchant, don't they, for wide players drifting in from those positions and finding themselves in a 10 where they can cause problems, and he's definitely going to be on a lot of people's lists to be the one that unlocks defences.

"Whether that's at the top end of the Championship, whether that's abroad, whether that's a team in Burnley who are potentially going to go up and want to bolster their ranks with a player such as that, remains to be seen."

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Diangana, but Tony Mowbray will surely be keen to see him stay with the club given his role in the side amid their push for promotion to the Premier League this year.
