The winter transfer window has closed, and Alexander Isak remains with Newcastle United. While there wasn’t much talk of a move in January, reports suggest Paris Saint-Germain and other clubs could make a stronger push for the Swedish striker this summer.

RMC Sport previously reported that PSG considered a swap deal involving Goncalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio to bring Isak to Paris.

Liverpool are also keeping an eye on Isak. According to Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the club has opened talks with his representatives and is preparing a significant bid. The Reds might even stray from their usual transfer approach to secure the 25-year-old.

Newcastle have reportedly set Isak’s price at €180 million (£150 million), which would make him Liverpool’s most expensive signing, surpassing the £85 million they paid for Darwin Nunez in 2022.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are interested in both Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali and Isak.

Journalist Mark Douglas reports that if Newcastle secure a Champions League spot this season, the Isak transfer saga won’t be an issue this summer, and he’ll likely stay with the club. The Magpies currently trail fourth-place side Manchester City by one point.

Recently, The Athletic’s James Pearce reported that Liverpool are interested in Alexander Isak but aren’t willing to pay €180 million for him.

The Reds plan to strengthen in multiple areas this summer, and they’re not the only club hesitant about that price tag.
