The Blades boss has given his thoughts on the news that Leeds are considering replacing Farke.

Chris Wilder has berated the idea that Leeds United should sack their promotion-winning boss Daniel Farke, following reports that the Whites were considering making a change to their first-team leadership.

It emerged on Wednesday, via a report from the Daily Mail, that Farke's previous record in the Premier League had the Leeds hierarchy unnerved about what could be to come next season in what has proved to be a very challenging top division for promoted sides.

Two days earlier, the Whites' 6-0 victory over Stoke City, combined with Burnley's 2-1 win over Sheffield United, confirmed that they would be playing Premier League football again next season.

Wilder's side was the only one that could have caught either Leeds or the Clarets in the remaining games of the campaign, had results gone the other way. He has admitted that he feels sympathy for his German counterpart over the current uncertainty surrounding his Leeds future.

The Blades manager, himself, hasn't been in the position that Leeds' boss is in right now, but he knows all about the ruthless nature of the sport these days and the expectations that will be on Farke heading into the 2025/26 campaign.

"I get it. It has changed, the game, on a lot of fronts," Wilder said, via The Star. "We talked about expectations and everything. I think we all understand the negative part of the job. I had a half-hour conversation with Dan and enjoyed it. He's a good guy, and it’s a great achievement by him.

"That isn’t a straightforward football club, it's got loads of things going for it but there is pressure on all of us, at different levels. I should imagine he has the most to deal with. The good things that come with it are offset by other parts of it.

"To football people, that's a ridiculous idea, or approach or decision, to football people internally. But maybe externally these are things that do happen and everyone has to deal with it and understand it."

Daniel Farke's uncertain future demonstrates the strength of the Premier League

It's no secret how tough it is for newly promoted sides to survive at the top table of English football. They come into any new season with, usually, such inferior budgets and playing staff that it is a near impossible gap to bridge. Ask Burnley how tough it is. They've been through that revolving door one-and-a-half times in the last three seasons alone.

When would a newly promoted side ever get rid of their manager, other than because of some huge controversy? They wouldn't. The only reason why this is being reportedly considered by Leeds is because they know how hard it will be for them next season and their current leader hasn't shown that he can rise to that level in the past.

And you know what, there is some logic to it, which is absolutely mental. There's no way any team should be thinking of changing gaffers just days after securing promotion, and yet Leeds supposedly are. It just shows the measures that clubs think they may have to go to in order to survive in the Premier League.
