Barcelona president Joan Laporta, currently in Dortmund, spoke ahead of his team’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg, firmly stating that there are enough reasons to achieve a treble this season
Having secured an impressive 4-0 victory at home in the first leg, Barça hold a superior advantage going into the match in Germany.
Despite that, Laporta is keen to avoid any sort of superiority complex and is firm that his team will stay focused on securing another win.
“The match is very important. It’s very important that we win, that we give a good image, and that way, we will send a message to the Champions League that we’re still strong.
“I’ve heard some comments that there may be some relaxation. No. The match is very important, we have a lot at stake sportingly.

“We have it on track, but we have to win and give a good image so that our rivals see that we are still strong,” he said, as quoted by SPORT.
It is to be noted that Barcelona are well on course to chasing a treble. They remain at the top of La Liga and the club is also set to play in the Copa del Rey final.
And with one foot in the Champions League semi-final, there is a growing sense of belief about the possibility of securing the treble. However, Laporta remains cautious and refuses to get carried away.
“We are very proud of the Super Cup and how the team is playing, but we have not won anything yet. The treble? Everything is possible,” he noted.
With the team unbeaten in 2025, the fans have every reason to be hopeful. However, the president is focused on ensuring that the players remain grounded and continue to push for success.
