Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has provided an insight into the celebration following his rare free-kick goal on Saturday.
Frontman Mbappé of course proved himself the star of the show for Real Madrid last night.
En route to a 3-2 La Liga downing of Leganés, the France international opened the scoring in proceedings, courtesy of a ‘panenka’ penalty strike.
The standout moment of his showing, though, came late on, when, with the scoreline locked at 2-2, Mbappé took responsibility of a Blancos free-kick.
Stepping up to the edge of the Leganés penalty area, the former Paris Saint-Germain standout directed a brlliant finish home at the near post.
Mbappé quickly wheeled away in celebration of as much, as the rest of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad mobbed their in-form teammate.
The 26-year-old, from here, though, made a beeline for something of a surprise member of the Real Madrid coaching staff.
Speaking to the media post-match, Mbappé confirmed that he sought out goalkeeper coach Luis Llopis:
“I celebrated the free-kick goal with Llopis because the goal is everyone’s work. I asked to take it, and it went well.”
