Real Madrid are planning some major changes to their squad in the summer transfer window after what has been a disappointing 2024/25 season.
A new right-back is at the top of the agenda with Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to sign as a free agent once his contract at Liverpool expires in the summer.
At the same time, Real Madrid have also decided to sign a new left-back and a central midfielder, with Milos Kerkez and Alexis Mac Allister, respectively, identified as targets for the two positions.
However, according to journalist Jorge C Picon, as things stand, Liverpool are the best-placed club to sign Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth.
Kerkez has enjoyed a meteoric rise this season, emerging as one of the standout performers in the Premier League under the tutelage of Andoni Iraola.
So much so that Bournemouth consider the young Hungarian international to be the best left-back in the world at the moment.
As such, the Cherries have slapped a £50 million price tag on their prized asset as per the report.

Real Madrid, for their part, are admirers of Kerkez. But it appears that they might have some qualms about shelling out such a big some on the young talent, as has been the case with his Bournemouth teammate Dean Huijsen.
And, much like Huijsen’s situation, Kerkez too might end up staying in the Premier League, with Liverpool now said to be the best placed in the race to sign the 21-year-old defensive talent.
It goes without saying that Real Madrid can use a new left-back as Ferland Mendy has once again fallen victim to fitness problems while Fran Garcia has failed to establish himself as a starter.
Kerkez, to that end, can be a fine addition, as he ticks several boxes for Real Madrid – young, brimming with potential, and an attack-minded modern full-back.
But unless they make their moves soon, Real Madrid could lose the Bournemouth starlet to Liverpool.
