Manchester United saved any chance of a successful season with their comeback for the ages against Lyon on Thursday night, but it was back to the new norm today against Wolves.
Having scored five against the French side, including three in six remarkable extra-time minutes, United could barely hit the target today, wasting numerous openings with the poor end product that has plagued them all season.
As plenty of fans probably anticipated, Wolves then struck with their first shot on target, Pablo Sarabia curling home a brilliant free-kick with 13 minutes left.
Arsenal's win at Ipswich means United are mathematically safe at long last, but it's another new low in the Premier League era for the 20-time top-flight champions.
It's unlikely many fans will care where United finish in the bottom half if salvation can be found with a Europa League triumph and Champions League football next season.
As Ruben Amorim alluded to on Thursday night, it's win or bust.
