AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah is hoping to return to club football with bragging rights over one of his team-mates, Santiago Gimenez.
It is the first international break of 2025 and the last one of the season, with 15 Milan players jetting off around Europe and the world to place Nations League fixtures (UEFA and CONCACAF) as well as World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Sergio Conceicao will have a keen eye on the Americas in particular. Musah and Christian Pulisic will take on Panama with the USA on Friday night (midnight CET) hoping to reach the final of the Nations League.
Meanwhile, Gimenez will be in action with Mexico during the early hours of Friday morning (03:30 CET) against Canada. There is the possibility, therefore, that three Milan players could be involved in the final in Los Angeles on Monday night.
Musah spoke during an interview with Claro Sports and he was asked about the possibility of meeting Gimenez in the final of the competition.
“Santi is a great guy. We’ll see if we meet in the final, it would be awesome. There are many things we say to each other, him being Mexican and us from the United States. Hopefully, we meet in the final, win the trophy, and remind him of it all in Milan,” he said.
Gimenez also spoke to the media while with his national team about his start to life at Milan, while Conceicao will hope that he returns to Italy with a goal or two under his belt after a tough past month.
