Pep Guardiola said Phil Foden and Manuel Akanji returned to training this week and will see later today whether they will be in contention for City’s trip to Everton in the Premier League.

However, Ederson has been ruled out of our last ever game at Goodison Park for our 15:00 (UK) kick-off on Saturday 19 April.

Akanji has not played since he was forced off with an injury in our Champions League first leg clash with Real Madrid more than two months ago.

Foden, meanwhile, was injured in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford earlier this month and missed our 5-2 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.

“Phil came back Thursday and [will be in] today’s training session since the action at Old Trafford,” the boss said in his pre-match news conference.

“Manu, yes, [he’s had] two or three training sessions with us. I see him moving really well.”

However, we are set to be without Ederson, who registered a remarkable fourth assist in our win over Palace, when he teed up James McAtee for City’s fourth.

But his afternoon ended in frustration when he aggravated a muscle injury that saw him replaced in the second half by Stefan Ortega Moreno, who is set to replace him against the Toffees.

Asked about when the Brazilian might be available, he said: “[He’s] not ready for tomorrow. I don’t know [when he will be available]. For the game he is not ready.”

Rodri, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Erling Haaland have also been unavailable due to injury and on the City striker’s recovery, Guardiola added: “[He’s] not training either. The next games he won't be ready.”

And on defender Stones and Ake he said: “Not yet. Getting better but not yet.”
