Cardiff City and West Bromwich face each other this Saturday at the Cardiff City Stadium for matchweek 45 of the EFL Championship.

Cardiff City have 43 points to their name this season and occupy 23rd position in the table. In their last game, the Bluebirds drew 1-1 with Oxford United (EFL Championship 2024/2025).

West Bromwich have picked up 60 points and currently lie in 10th position. In their last fixture, the Baggies suffered a 1-3 reverse against Derby County (EFL Championship 2024/2025).

The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Fan Zone

Tom Taylor (Sport Addict Corner): With relegation beckoning Cardiff City have a new management team in the dugout for the rest of the season with club heroes Aaron Ramsey, Joe Ralls, and Chris Gunter being given the almost impossible task of keeping the Bluebirds up. If they're the ones who "take us down" then I'll hold absolutely no resentment towards them because it's not their fault, they're the scapegoats for an incompetent board and ownership who are mainly to blame for this season.

Whilst the performance against Oxford United was better than recent weeks, we still weren't that great. We lacked that cutting edge in the final third and again dropped points in a game where we should've really been out of sight when their equaliser came.

Other results went against us in the absolute worst way possible, with all of Hull, Derby, Luton, and Plymouth picking up wins. It puts us 3 points behind the Rams (which is basically 4 with our goal difference) and Luton, 4 behind Hull, and level with Argyle. Relegation could happen as early as Saturday and in all honesty, I wouldn't be that surprised if we go on to finish bottom of the league from here.

I think West Brom will be a tough one since they've gotten rid of Tony Mowbray. They can mathematically make the playoffs and James Morrison will want to lay a big marker down to put himself into contention for the Baggies job next season, and a result against Cardiff may do that. I can see them being refreshed like we were against Oxford, and could easily get a win with the squad they have. But I'll try to stay as optimistic as I can, and say we'll hold them to a draw.

Prediction: 1-1

AllAlbionFans (AllAlbionFans): It would take Coventry losing their last 2 games, Boro losing to Norwich City at Home, Millwall to pick up less than 4 points and Blackburn pick up 4 points to give us a shot at the Play Offs.

The most unlikely thing to happen is Albion to win Away and back to back games. We’ve haven’t won consecutively since September or Away since November.

Cardiff will be up for tomorrow with a packed house but I don’t know if they have the quality. They’ve drawn a few games recently but don’t win.

We’ve now got rid of a very good Championship Manager and brilliant human being after 3 months and before he even got a transfer window. He’ll have worked out who he can trust and who needs to leave the club but they now get a clean slate. It’s a sad time to be an Albion fan.

I’ll be there but I haven’t had this little interest in attending a game since Tony Pulis was at my club.

It would be nice to relegate Cardiff City. It’s a decent place and good Away day but I don’t agree with Welsh teams being in the ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

Prediction: 1-1
