Preview: Juventus Women vs Milan

Juventus Women face their first match point in pursuit of the 2024/25 Serie A title this Friday evening, hosting Milan in Biella in a 17:30 CEST kick-off knowing that a win will see them crowned Italian champions.

The last meeting between the two ended 2-2 in Milan, while the last time the Rossonere visited Biella the Bianconere won 3-0 in November.

Head-to-head

Juventus have gone unbeaten in 13 of their 16 Serie A matches against Milan, with 10 of those ending in Bianconere wins.
Milan have lost more league games against Juventus (10) than they have against any other team. It was also the Bianconere who delivered Milan’s biggest-ever defeat (the 6-0 back in February).
Should Milan avoid defeat, though, they will become the first team to prevent Juventus from winning seven times in the top flight - they are currently on six (three wins, three draws) along with Roma (five wins, one draw) and Inter (two wins, four draws).
Of the teams that Milan have met at least five times on the road in Serie A, Juventus are the team against whom they’ve scored the fewest goals (five).

A win will see Juventus crowned Italian champions for the sixth time since their introduction to Serie A in 2017, only not winning the title in the last two seasons. In the three-points-for-a-win era (since 1995/96), only Torres have managed as many as six title wins.

Juventus are the side with the best rate of completed crosses in Serie A this season (26%). As well, they are the team with the most goals scored as a result of crosses (12), as many as 11 more than Milan.

One of Cristiana Girelli’s two league hat-tricks this season came against Milan.
Girelli is also the player with the most Serie A goals scored against Milan (eight), with Barbara Bonansea and Fiorentina’s Madelen Janogy (five) next behind her.
Sofia Cantore is enjoying her best scoring season in Serie A (11 goals so far). Incidentally, since she returned to Juventus for the 2022/23 season, Cantore has had a hand in four goals (two of her own, two assists), making the Rossoneri one of three teams against whom she has at least two goals and two assists (also two and two against Pomigliano, and five goals and three assists against Roma).
Juventus are the team with the most players born in or after 2004 with at least five league goal involvements to their name this season: Eva Schatzer has three goals and two assists, while Chiara Beccari has three goals and four assists).
Milan are, along with Fiorentina, one of Chiara Beccari’s favourite opponents, having scored three goals against each.
Valentina Bergamaschi made 151 appearances for Milan, scoring 20 goals for the Rossonere. Lindsey Thomas also had a spell with Friday’s opposition, making 62 appearances and scoring 22 goals there.
