PSG smashed a long-standing European record on Tuesday night after their 1-1 draw away at Nantes, breaking a European record that’s stood for over 30 years.
That result took their unbeaten away run in Ligue 1 to 39 matches — more than any side in the history of Europe’s top five leagues.
The previous record was held by AC Milan, who went 38 away games without losing in Serie A between 1991 and 1993 under the legendary Fabio Capello.
That Milan run was ended in October '93, when they lost 3-2 to a Sven-Göran Eriksson-managed Sampdoria, with goals from Roberto Mancini and former Milan star Ruud Gullit doing the damage.
Luis Enrique's side, already crowned Ligue 1 champions after beating Angers a couple of weeks ago, now have 30 wins and 9 draws on the road in the league.
Now all eyes are on where PSG can take this streak. Up next, they’ve got a tough away trip to Strasbourg next, where Liam Rosenior’s side are pushing hard for a European spot and won’t roll over easily.
On top of that, there’s another bit of history up for grabs. With four games left, PSG are unbeaten all season - 24 wins, six draws - and if they keep it up, they could become the first team in Ligue 1 history to go a whole season without losing a single match.
