Confirming their overwhelming favoritism from the start of the season, PSG won the 2024/25 Ligue 1 title. The Parisians clinched yet another trophy with a 1-0 win over Angers, making them mathematically champions with six games to spare, with 74 points out of a possible 84.

PSG's dominance has been so superior in the current Ligue 1 season that coach Luis Enrique had the opportunity to spare some of the team's most important starters ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa during the week. And even so, the champions had no trouble at all in cruising to victory.

Repeating the same pattern seen throughout the season, PSG controlled possession (80%) and had a high number of shots (20). Without suffering from their opponents, the winning goal came in the 55th minute, from a move set up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and finished off by Désiré Doué, one of the leading players in the history of world soccer today.

Before the start of Qatar Sports Investments' management, PSG had only won two Ligue 1 titles between 1970 and 2010. Since the start of Qatari management in 2011, Paris have won 11 trophies in France's premier soccer league, with only Monaco (2016/17) and Lille (2020/21) winning titles in recent years.

Even with their focus firmly on the UEFA Champions League, PSG still need to pay special attention to Ligue 1 in their quest for a historic achievement: an unprecedented unbeaten title in the entire history of French soccer. Not even when they had a squad made up of stars like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar did Paris fail to achieve this feat.

It's essential to prioritize the quarter-finals of the European competition, but Luis Enrique needs to keep his squad mobilized for the final games in Ligue 1.
