Bradford City may have lost their last two in the league, but Graham Alexander's side are still well-positioned for a tilt at promotion.

Since the start of 2025, the Bantams have won 10 out of their 15 league games and with nine league games remaining, hold a three-point advantage over fourth-placed Doncaster Rovers.

The key to their success lies in the perfect blend of experience and youthful energy. The seasoned leadership of Richard Smallwood and Antoni Sarcevic has been exceptional, while the youthful exuberance of Bobby Pointon and Jack Shepherd has provided the team with that extra spark.

However, despite the standout performances across the squad, there are still individuals whom Alexander will be keen to see improvements from before the season concludes and as they look ahead to next year.

To gain insight into which players need to improve at Valley Parade, Football League World spoke to their resident Bantam, Fletcher Smith.

On this subject, he said: "There are quite a few, really, who were brought in with high expectations but haven't lived up to them.

"I would go for Tyreik Wright. He has shown glimpses, but he needs to be more consistent. On his day, he is a very good player, but he has kind of slowed down. It would be nice to see an improvement from him.

"He has had some injuries, but if he can get back to where he was when he first came on loan, then he would be a great player to have."

Speaking about another player he wants to see improvements from, Smith added: "Clarke Oduor as well. He was brought in from Barnsley, but he hasn't hit the ground running since he got to Bradford.

"He isn't a starter, but he has got the quality; you can tell.

"If they could both improve, then both of them could be great players."

Tyreik Wright and Clarke Oduor fighting for their Bradford future

Both Wright and Oduor have contracts running until 2026, but with potential promotion on the horizon it is fair to say that the duo are fighting for their Bradford future.

The former has started 16 games this campaign, but has struggled to recreate the form that prompted Bradford to sign him in the summer. Meanwhile, Oduor has been a rare sight this side of Christmas and having started just seven league games this term, it is difficult to see a future for him should they get promoted.

Of course, the final nine games of this campaign provide both players with an opportunity to turn things around, and should they play a pivotal role in promotion, the perspective of those around the club may well change.
