Roma could reignite their chase of Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi to replace PSG target Manu Kone this summer.

This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it. They report that with the cash from a sale of Kone on hand, the Giallorossi would be ready to meet Inter’s asking price for the Italian.

Roma’s interest in signing Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi is certainly no secret.

The Giallorrosi spent much of the January transfer window trying to sign the 25-year-old.

And furthermore, Frattesi would have reportedly welcomed the move. He was keen to leave Inter in search of more playing time.

However, in the end, Inter’s asking price for Frattesi proved to be too much of a stumbling block for Roma.

The Nerazzurri were in no hurry to sell Frattesi. Therefore, they wanted a fee of at least €40 million for the former Sassuolo midfielder.

And there would have been no way for Roma to come up with that kind of cash.

However, Roma could return to try and sign Davide Frattesi in the summer transfer window.

And according to the Gazzetta, the situation could be very different due to a potential big sale from the Stadio Olimpico.

The Gazzetta report that Roma midfielder Manu Kone is a major target for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

And if Roma were to sell Kone to PSG it would certainly be for a significant transfer fee.

The Giallorossi only signed Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer. However, the Frenchman’s form in the Italian capital has seen his reputation grow significantly.

Therefore, if Kone were to be on his way, Roma would need to make a major signing to replace him.

And according to the Gazzetta, one of the capital club’s first ports of call would be Frattesi.

Moreover, Inter and Roma will already be at the negotiating table this summer. They will be working out a potential permanent move for Nicola Zalewski to Inter.

Therefore, the Giallorossi could certainly use these talks as an opportunity to try and lay the groundwork for a big money move for Frattesi.
