‘Selfish’ – Barcelona star subjected to rare criticism for performance in Real Betis draw | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Saturday evening been singled out for widespread criticism online.

The player in question? Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Real Betis to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

The Blaugrana headed into proceedings in the knowledge that an eventual victory would have seen them open the advantage over Real Madrid atop the table to a full six points.

When all was said and done, however, Hansi Flick’s troops were forced to make do with a draw.

This came after a spirited Betis performance culminated in Gavi’s early opener being cancelled out decisively by Natan.

En route to their eventual share of the spoils, a number of Barcelona’s leading stars struggled to conjure up their usual level of brilliance, no doubt in large part owing to fatigue.

Chief amongst these players was Lamine Yamal, who toiled in his efforts throughout much of the 90 minutes, surrendering possession on far too many occasions.

And as alluded to above, the Barca faithful have not been at all shy in making clear their frustrations with the club’s prodigious winger, amid something of a post-match backlash online.
