Trabzonspor looks interested enough to be shifting their transfer stance to meet Southampton's €10m valuation for Paul Onuachu.
In its recent history, Southampton has seen a ton of players at St. Mary's, some heroes and some flops, yet none of them on as borderline as Paul Onuachu. Tell me, who is he, a hit or a disaster move, as per you?
Notably, since his signing in 2023, Onuachu has seen far too many Saints gaffers in charge. Brought in by Nathan Jones, he has been overseen by many including Russell Martin, making the forward's case one of the most intriguing ones in Southampton's history.
Just see, how despite being a significant goal-scorer for the club recently, fans still don’t back him to lead the line next Championship season.
So what for the Nigerian forward next, who feels stuck amidst Southampton's renewal decision and the fans' distrust? Well, it's his second home Trabzonspor that has come to his rescue again.
Now, honestly, after Onuachu's Turkish spell heroics for the club, few reunions have felt more inevitable or more welcomed than Onuachu’s return to Trabzonspor, and thankfully, it can happen finally.
This is because, after a series of rumour failures, the Super Lig club has convinced themselves to heed Southampton's considerable €10m ask for Paul Onuachu.
Recently, a CMG Sports source (as quoted by Sport Witness), finally revealed Trabzonspor's stance on Onuachu, saying: "They definitely wanted him last summer, but their €7m fee didn’t match the €10m request. They are now determined to finalise the deal before the end of the season."
Well, hopefully, this deal goes through, with Southampton getting a cut fee for Onuachu, and Trabzonspor getting the forward this summer.
