Venezia coach Eusebio Di Francesco says that Inter Milan owner goalkeeper Filip Stankovic could be back from injury before the end of the season.
Di Francesco updated on Stankovic’s recovery timeline in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews.
Inter Milan-owned keeper Filip Stankovic is currently part of Venezia’s squad.
The young Serb joined the Lagunari on loan last summer. Moreover, the Venetian club have a purchase option on Stankovic at the end of the current season.
Stankovic had been in outstanding form for much of the season.
The 23-year-old’s saves were key to any hope that Venezia had of remaining in Serie A.
However, Stankovic then picked up a knee injury at the start of February.
This led to Venezia signing goalkeeper Andrei Radu from Inter Milan.

Filip Stankovic has been one of the main injury misses for Venezia, alongside defender Michael Svoboda.
Lagunari coach Eusebio Di Francesco updated on the prospect of seeing the pair back before the end of the campaign.
“Stankovic would be likelier than Svoboda,” he said.
“Svoboda, I’d say, has about a 96.8% chance of being out for the season to be precise,” he joked.
“Stankovic could be back, though,” Di Francesco added.
“He’s returned to training somewhat,” said the Venezia coach. “Even if it’s not with the rest of the squad yet.”
“Maybe in a couple weeks, he could be back in training with the team.”
