West Ham Open to Kudus Sale as Al-Nassr Interest Grows

Kudus Future Uncertain Amid Al-Nassr Interest

West Ham United are prepared to let Mohammed Kudus leave this summer, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr registering strong interest, according to The Guardian. The 24-year-old Ghanaian, who joined from Ajax in 2023, is the subject of growing transfer speculation due to a release clause that becomes active for a limited time this summer.

While Kudus was an early bright spot in his debut Premier League campaign, his form has waned this season. The forward has not scored since December, prompting internal discussions at the London Stadium over his future.

There’s a sense that, although West Ham won’t actively push Kudus out, a substantial bid could be welcome. “Losing him would not be a disaster,” is the sentiment shared by figures within the club.

Financial Constraints Dictating Transfer Strategy

Graham Potter is planning to reshape his West Ham squad following a turbulent campaign. However, with funds limited, the club must generate revenue through player sales. Kudus is among the few assets expected to command a significant fee.

Sources suggest that agents and West Ham’s recruitment team are operating with the expectation that any meaningful additions this summer will require outgoing transfers first. Alongside Kudus, players like Emerson Palmieri, Konstantinos Mavropanos, and Edson Álvarez could be made available.

European Interest a Factor in Kudus Decision

While Al-Nassr are willing to meet Kudus’ valuation, West Ham remain hopeful of interest from Premier League and European clubs. Much depends on the player’s own stance. There are doubts over whether Kudus would be interested in moving to Saudi Arabia, which could delay or derail any potential move.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

This is yet another blow in a season already soaked in underachievement. Kudus was meant to be one of the cornerstones of a new, attacking West Ham. Instead, he’s gone cold since Christmas, and now it looks like they’ll cash in just to balance the books.

The idea that “losing him would not be a disaster” feels like an excuse rather than a plan. When you’re 17th and relying on ageing players and loan returns, shouldn’t the priority be keeping your best young talents?

Selling Kudus to Saudi Arabia—if it happens—would be a short-term fix. It might fund a couple of moves, but it won’t solve structural problems. The hammers are being linked with players like Evan Ferguson returning to Brighton and Carlos Soler heading back to PSG—how does that help them build a team?

Unless there’s serious reinvestment, this feels like the start of a slow slide, not a reset. Supporters want ambition, not another summer of selling their better players and hoping to tread water.
