AC Milan and Inter Milan’s ambitious project to build a new state-of-the-art stadium in the San Siro district has moved into the second phase.
Per Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, the clubs are getting ever closer to reaching a definite agreement with the municipality of Milan.
What seemed improbable only a few weeks ago has become a distinct possibility.
Indeed, Palazzo Marino is reviewing the DOCFAP document submitted by the clubs earlier this month.

The document contains the proposal for the acquisition of the San Siro and surrounding areas.
Officials have also launched a public notice to gauge interest from other potential stakeholders in the stadium. Meanwhile, the bidding process will reportedly last thirty days.
Therefore, Milan and Inter will enter direct negotiations to complete the purchase if no other offers emerge.
A potential clash over costs could arise, as both clubs plan to request discounts from the city. Indeed, demolition and remediation expenses could mount up to €1 billion.
As such, it’s only natural to expect the Milan clubs to try and drive the price down.
