Real Madrid were dealt a major setback on Wednesday as they lost Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba to injuries, days before the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
While Alaba might still make it to the squad, Camavinga’s season is over after it was confirmed that he has suffered a complete tear of the left adductor tendon.
But there is some good news for Real Madrid as Mundo Deportivo confirms that Kylian Mbappe and Ferland Mendy returned to group training today as Real Madrid resumed preparations for the Copa del Rey final.
Mendy has been sidelined with an ankle sprain that kept him out of recent La Liga fixtures against Athletic Club and Getafe.
But the French superstar seems to have fully recovered as he trained normally today and he now looks set to start in Saturday’s final at Estadio de La Cartuja.

Meanwhile, Mendy has not played since 12 March due to a hamstring tear he suffered against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
However, the good news is that things are progressing well with the French left-back and he is entering the final phase of his recovery.
Real Madrid’s usual pre-match training schedule has been adjusted for the final. On Friday, the squad will train at Valdebebas at 11:00, then travel to Seville for an evening session at La Cartuja, scheduled for 20:00
And, Mendy will now use the remaining training sessions to build fitness and prove he is ready to start against Barcelona, ahead of Fran Garcia, who is currently the frontrunner to feature.
