Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who scored the only goal during his side’s 1-0 win over Alaves, spoke after the match, stating his belief ahead of the all-important UEFA Champions League tie against Arsenal.

The team from the Spanish capital faces a difficult task, needing to overturn a three-goal deficit in the quarter-final second leg and yet, the French midfielder remains positive.

Speaking to Real Madrid TV after yesterday’s game, Camavinga said,

“We need to play a very focused game. We have to attack, press, and fight from the first minute. It’s going to be a big night, and we need the support of all Real Madrid fans around the world. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Furthermore, the midfielder also highlighted how important the win over Alaves was for team morale.

Real Madrid have been struggling for wins of late so the clean sheet was a much-needed boost.

“This performance is a big one for our confidence. We played seriously, and it came at the right moment. It’s a good way to prepare for what’s coming on Wednesday,” Camavinga explained.

Meanwhile, the win over Alaves also saw Dani Ceballos return to action. Although the midfielder’s role was limited, he was happy to be back on the pitch.

“Little by little, I’m getting better. I feel more confident each time and I’m happy to help the team,” he said after the match.

He went on to admit that the game was difficult and it became tougher after Kylian Mbappe’s red card.

“We knew it would be a tough game. After going ahead and then going a man down, everyone worked together to keep the lead.”

Looking ahead to the Arsenal clash, Ceballos, who played for the Gunners while on loan, pointed out the key.

“To come back from 3-0, we need every player giving 200% and the fans creating a special atmosphere. With their support, we can turn things around,” he stated.
