Celtic striker Adam Idah has received support from an unlikely source after his midweek night out was shared on social media. The Irishman was filmed while on a night out looking worse for wear, which prompted Brendan Rodgers to pour cold water on any hint of impropriety before the weekend’s Semi Final against St Johnstone.

The manager explained that he had spoken to Idah and there was no issue with the player going out on a night out given it was a day off the team. Idah rewarded the manager for his faith as he netted Celtic’s third on their way to a resounding 5-0 win.

Speaking to Open Goal’s Keeping The Ball On The Ground podcast, Andy Halliday supported Idah and stated that it’s becoming difficult for supporters to let their hair down.

Idah appeared to apologise when he celebrated after converting from Reo Hatate’s cross.
