At Roma, between 2016 and 2020, he collected 138 appearances and scored 32 goals.

“It’s practically the only team I watch play,” said Perotti. “I’m in love with Rome and Roma. I watch all their games.”

“They have a Champions League team and they deserve to be there. I think that to straighten out the season nothing special was needed, except having respect for the roles and the environment. And that’s exactly what Ranieri did.”

“In Rome I can say that I lived without a doubt the best years of my career. We were a crazy team, especially the first years. There were fantastic players: I think of Salah and Dzeko, Nainggolan, De Rossi, Rudiger and many others.”

“Today a team like that would fight for first place. Plus, we were coached by a genius like Spalletti. And I didn’t mention Totti… he played another sport.”

“Francesco was truly incredible. Sometimes you looked at him and thought, ‘Do I really play with this guy?’. I grew up at Boca with the myth of Riquelme and I put Francesco with him in my personal Olympus. He shot at goal like no one else in the world. And then the throws, the first touches in space, the backheels. It was pure magic.”

“Scoring the winner in Totti’s final match was something unique. It was a special day, I remember very strange feelings before entering the field. We were playing for direct access to the Champions League and it was Francesco’s last match. There was a different tension, especially among the fans.”

“We won in the last minute, thanks to a goal of mine, against Genoa. Instead, about what happened at the final whistle, I don’t think there are adequate words to describe the love of 80 thousand fans in tears. I have never seen so many people cry in a stadium.”
