Ex Man United Star Insists Inter Milan ‘Can’t Give Up’ Despite Serie A Loss Vs Roma – Adds ‘We’ll Be Prepared’ Vs Barcelona In Champions League

Matteo Darmian says that Inter Milan “can’t give up” despite their Serie A loss against Roma this evening.
The former Manchester United defender also gave his thoughts ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona, speaking to InterTV, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan lost against Roma this evening.
The Nerazzurri fell behind to a Matias Soule effort in the first half. This followed a period in which they had consistently been second best to the Giallorossi.
Then, in the second half, Inter had much of the possession, and played largely in Roma’s half.
However, despite all their probing, the Nerazzurri were unable to create any decisive chances against a Giallorossi defense that protecting their penalty area with organization and physicality.

This evening’s result was a hugely damaging one for Inter.
However, Nerazzurri wingback Matteo Darmian insisted that “we can’t give up.”
“Despite these last few losses, we still have a lot to play for.”
Darmian noted that “we know how hard it will be.”
“But we have to stay united in the dressing room, and across the team. And look forward.”
“Now, there’s no point saying anything else.”
Then, Darmian admitted that “it’s a shame, because these have been very big losses.”
“But from the next match onwards, we’re facing a match that’s fascinating, but difficult.”
Inter face Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals this coming week.
“We’ll do everything to bring it home,” Darmian said of facing the Blaugranas.
And Darmian said that “We’ll be prepared, the way we always are.”
“Often, these matches prepare for themselves somewhat,” the 35-year-old said of coming up against Barcelona.
“It’s normal that we have to recover both physically and mentally,” Darmian added.
“But we’ll be prepared the way we always are. And we’ll go to Barcelona to put in a good performance.”
