In a candid revelation, Nico Paz, a former Real Madrid academy star, has shared his admiration for Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s rising talent, and openly expressed his desire to play alongside the 17-year-old wonderkid.

Nico, currently playing for Como in Serie A, is full of praise for Yamal, who has made a significant impact this season.

“I’ve been lucky enough to play for Real Madrid, in the best team in the world, to play with Vinicius or Bellingham.

“To say another, now I will take Lamine Yamal, who for me is now one of the best in the world, and with his age, the truth is that I would really like to play with him,” admitted the Argentine.

A remarkable career transition

Nico’s journey from Real Madrid’s youth ranks to a first-team role at Como has been a significant shift. He moved last summer in search of regular first-team football, something that had eluded him at Madrid.

Now, under Cesc Fabregas, the youngster has found his rhythm, playing an important role for the Italian side. Reflecting on this transition, he noted,

“It’s been a huge change. At Real Madrid, I played more in the youth teams. It’s been a difficult but very nice change. I’m adapting and I’m eager to continue.”

Despite settling into his new environment, Real Madrid have not lost sight of the talented midfielder.

According to reports, the Los Blancos have a buyback clause worth just €8 million in his contract with Como. This clause could be activated in the summer, which would give Madrid the final say on his future.

Though Paz has found a new home at Como, Real Madrid retain control over his future, with the buyback option still in place.

Should Madrid decide to trigger the clause, they would have the opportunity to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu, despite the impressive progress he has made at Como.
