Marcus Thuram is aiming to be fully fit for the first leg of the Champions League semifinal tie between Barcelona and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Yesterday, Inter Milan confirmed that striker Marcus Thuram has suffered a muscle injury.

The 27-year-old looks to be the major casualty from the exhausting Champions League match against Bayern Munich in midweek. He has suffered some muscular fatigue in his left thigh.

Thuram has not suffered a major injury, and should be back soon enough. However, he will still need adequate time to recover.

Marcus Thuram will obviously miss out on tomorrow evening’s Serie A away trip to Bologna.

Moreover, the France international will also almost certainly be unavailable against AC Milan in midweek.

However, Thuram should not take more than a few days to recover.

Therefore, the 27-year-old should be available against Roma next weekend.

Thuram may not be ready to start that Serie A match. However, he should at least be able to play a role off the bench.

Accordingly, Tuttosport report, Inter’s aim will be to have Thuram come on as a substitute and get some minutes in his legs ahead of the following match.

That will be a huge one. Inter travel to Spain to take on Barcelona in the first leg of a Champions League semifinal tie.

And Thuram will hope to be match-fit and ready to start that decisive match.
