According to reporting from Fabrizio Romano, the club has no plans to offer the midfielder a new contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of June.
Jorginho suffered a thoracic injury during the April 12 Premier League match after he was shunted, Harry Kane-style, when he was in mid-air, resulting in a bad landing. Before the game against Crystal Palace, Mikel Arteta acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding his recovery timeline but suggested the issue was significant enough to rule him out for several weeks.
“For the Jorginho, unfortunately,” Arteta said, “I think it will be a few weeks. We have to see how he evolves in the next few days.
“I would say a few weeks. The doctor was still quite cautious in talking about dates. The good news is that he is feeling much better. It was a quite scary situation.”

Romano reports that Flamengo have already submitted a formal proposal to sign Jorginho, who joined from Chelsea in January 2023 for €11.3m.
The 33-year-old has featured regularly but never centrally under Arteta, playing a rotation role in midfield. With just two months remaining on his deal and no renewal expected, the timing of his latest injury raises the likelihood that he has already made his final appearance for the club.
There has been no official comment from Arsenal regarding contract talks, but all indications point to an exit once the season concludes. Flamengo are currently the leading contenders to secure his signature although there is some interest from sides in Europe.
Jorginho has made 78 appearances for Arsenal, scoring two goals and assisting three.
