Football League World's Terriers Fan Pundit has told his club's owner the three things that must happen this summer.
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...
Huddersfield Town look to run out of steam in League One this season, and they look set to start the 2025/26 campaign in the third tier once again.
Relegation from the Championship at the end of last season did not come as a surprise to many at the John Smith's Stadium, as the club struggled to get back on its feet after their heartbreaking play-off final loss to Nottingham Forest in 2022.
Managerial appointments have been poor throughout the last few years, and with the Terriers still without a permanent head coach, the next month is vital to the direction the West Yorkshire outfit want to go in the future.
Huddersfield have missed out on Paul Warne, who was a target of theirs, after the 51-year-old chose MK Dons instead and supporters will be wanting a conclusion to this saga sooner rather than later.
The Terriers were busy in the January transfer window, and they brought in four new faces to help with their play-off push.
However, it did not pay off, and the likes of Joe Taylor - who cost the club over £3m - have not proven why they were signed.
Football League World has asked their Huddersfield Fan Pundit, Graeme Rayner, what a dream transfer window looks like for his team.
"It’s almost inevitable now and it's 99% certain that we are going to be playing League One football next year," he started. "So I think a dream transfer window for most Huddersfield Town fans would be that very quickly we announce the new head coach or manager.
"Then the head coach or manager must be given the opportunity to clear out a lot of the squad. A large proportion of the squad have not been good enough and we need a total reset. It's hard to name individual names, but I would say we need to go through every position at the club and ask ourselves who's good enough and who's not and then get rid so of those that aren't.
"We must then bring in adequate replacements that maybe we haven't even heard of yet, but who are from overseas, but we must show some ambition. We must show a real sense of purpose and a sense of direction.
"So I would expect that we should easily be talking about double figures going in each direction. Double figures out, double figures in."
Graeme continued: "But for me, the most important thing is that the manager or head coach that we're recruiting for is in place, has a clear system, and that and I've said this before, the person in charge of recruitment in terms of the director of football or sporting director is somebody new.
"I don't think it can be Mark Cartwright whatever happens because, as I've said before, I think that if he is in charge in the transfer window, he could bring in Kevin De Bruyne on a free from Manchester City and first time he misplaces a pass, the Huddersfield fan base would say here we go again.
"The first time he got a tweak and had to come off in a game because of a minor injury, we would say, here we go. His reputation is so low at the club, we’re expecting failure and so the first sign of it, we see that as a confirmation of what we've expected.
"So, in summary, a new manager, a new director of football or sporting director and easily 10 to 12 players in and out each way."
It's been a torrid couple of years for Huddersfield, and supporters are often left wanting more from their owner and those at the top of the club.
The decision to sack Michael Duff is one that was perhaps never needed, and while he was underperforming, the time that has been taken to find a replacement has been far too long and those in the stands are right to be frustrated.
This summer is a massive one for Nagle's ownership, and if the wrong path is followed once again, the disconnect between the board and fans will not be fixed and, ultimately, the John Smith's Stadium will start to be filled less and less.
