From having been linked with a departure during the summer transfer window, Dani Ceballos grew into an important player for Real Madrid in recent months before an injury halted his progress.
The Spanish international developed into a key cog in the middle of the park for Los Blancos, providing the much-needed balance that manager Carlo Ancelotti was so craving.
However, Ceballos suffered a fresh injury setback in February during the Copa del Rey clash against Real Sociedad, ruling him out potentially for two months.
Earlier today, Real Madrid posted a video on their social media showing Ceballos working on his recovery and the effort he has been putting in to get back on the field.
The former Real Betis ace admitted that things are still going a tad bit slow as he is still in the first phase of his rehabilitation.
“It’s a bit of a slow recovery but it’s the first phase. In the second phase, we’ll be on the pitch and hopefully I’ll be back soon to help the team,” said Ceballos.
The Real Madrid midfielder also highlighted the importance of the club’s medical staff and physiotherapists, stating:
“The truth is that they (physios) are very important for us, help us on a day-to-day basis and they are a fundamental part of this team.”
Talking about what else goes into his recovery apart from just the work being put in at the club’s Valdebebas training facility, Ceballos remarked:
“The day doesn’t end when you leave Valdebebas. There are many more things to do: hyperbaric chamber, red lights, gym, and I think the most important thing, focus on 100% recovery to come back as soon as possible.”
Real Madrid hope to have Ceballos back in time for the potential Copa del Rey final next month, provided they prevail against Sociedad in the semi-final second leg.
