Legendary former Nerazzurri captain Beppe Bergomi feels that Inter Milan “play every match thinking about the next one.”

Bergomi gave his thoughts on his former team while speaking on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He also emphasized the Nerazzurri’s high average squad age.

Inter Milan are in the midst of an extremely busy schedule.

Since the return from the international break at the end of March, Inter have already played three matches. And they have another one on the way tomorrow against Bayern Munich.

Inter ground out a win against Udinese in their return from the international break. Then they drew against AC Milan in the first leg of a Coppa Italia semifinal tie.

However, Inter’s draw against Parma over the weekend was a much more bitter result than that against the Rossoneri.

It is not, however, a result that the Nerazzurri can afford to dwell on. They have a huge match tomorrow – and then they’re in action in Serie A next weekend yet again.

Bergomi: “Inter Milan Play Every Match Thinking Of The Next One”

Legendary former Nerazzurri captain Beppe Bergomi argued that “Inter play every match thinking about the next one.”

“Not just in terms of the substitutions. But also in the choice of the starting eleven.”

“Between injuries and suspensions, like Dumfries who for me has been their key player recently, Inzaghi has to think well in advance,” Bergomi said of the Inter coach’s squad rotation.

Bergomi went on, “I might a broken record, but I have to repeat: Inter have the highest average squad age in Serie A, and they play more than anyone else.”

“If you don’t make changes, the players get injured,” he went on.

“Inzaghi makes them. He has to make them.”

“But of course, then if you allow a comeback from 2-0 up, that’s a problem.”

“But the physical decline also has to be taken into consideration.”
